Road to a new experience.
On 22nd February I attended the inauguration of my “Tokyo Tsukiji” exhibition at the Edoardo Chiossone Oriental Art Museum in Genoa. I met the Director Mrs Aurora Canepari when presenting the book at Photofactory Art, always in Genoa, and from there a conversation began that led us to organise the exhibition.
Ever since art and photography have been my passion, basically all my life, the idea of the museum has always been both a source of inspiration and admiration at the same time; for the artists on display and in the most diverse fields. It had always seemed to me to be a faraway universe, a goal to aim for but impossible to achieve. Yet here I am, next to my work, exhibited in a museum.
This is an emotional opportunity and an honour for me: here the photos of “Tokyo Tsukiji” not only communicate with visitors but also the other works of art, a collection considered to be the most important in Italy and among the most important in Europe.
In addition to being my first time, it is actually a rare occasion for a photographer to exhibit their work in an institutional setting.
Therefore, I cannot thank Mrs. Canepari enough, who, in addition to having chosen my work, oversaw setting it up with Benedetta Donato.
The inauguration was a very emotional experience thanks to the many people who took part, and with whom I was able to compare my project specifically as well as the mutual idea of photography in general.
Thanks also to Enrico Ratto, a friend who is always there, who took some of the photos seen here to cover the event.
The exhibition will be open until 5th May, for all information visit the dedicated page here.
